Civil Litigation

Sometimes bad things happen to good people. When it does we're here to help.

When bad things happen our legal system has two separate paths which can lead to court. There is the criminal justice system and the civil justice system. Not every transgression is a criminal offence and most criminal offences are also civil wrongs for which the courts can order damages or other relief.

Some examples of situations which can lead to Civil Litigation include broken promises in contracts, car accidents, insurance claims, disputed wills and estates, slip and fall cases, construction problems, landlord and tenant disputes, mortgage foreclosures, family law, and the collection of outstanding accounts, both secured and unsecured.

At Kidston & Company LLP we can help with all types of civil disputes. The lawyers on our litigation team take pride in the excellent results they achieve for our clients. They have represented clients in front of boards and tribunals (including matters relating to Canada Pension Plan disability pensions and Workers Compensation Act pensions) and in the courts at both the trial and appellate level.

Our lawyers have represented individuals, small businesses, some of the largest corporations in the world, financial institutions, various governments including provincial and federal ministries and First Nations Governments.

Many Civil Litigation matters can be handled on a contingency fee basis, which means you don't pay legal fees until the matter is resolved. To see if your situation might be suitable for such an arrangement please contact one of our trial lawyers.
